SuppPrep Privacy Policy

Last updated November 7, 2026. SuppPrep is a practice site for Ontario university supplementary applications. It is a small independent project, not affiliated with any university, Kira Talent or Acuity Insights (Casper).

What we collect

Account details: the email address and first name you enter, and your password stored only as a salted one-way hash (we cannot read it). We also record when you agreed to the Terms of Use.
What you do on the site: the programs you select and the scores from each practice session (overall score, criteria scores, date, and which scorer was used).
A sign-in cookie that keeps you signed in for up to 30 days. We use no advertising or analytics cookies.

What we do not store

Password reset emails. If you ask to reset your password by email, we send a 6-digit code to your address through an email delivery service. The code expires after 15 minutes.
Backups. A daily encrypted copy of the site’s data is emailed to the site operator so accounts can be restored if the server fails. Only the operator holds the passphrase.
Feedback messages. If you send a message from the Feedback page, we save the text, the type you chose, the email you gave for a reply (or your account email), and your account name if you were signed in. We may also email it to the site operator. Messages are deleted if you delete your account (anonymous messages cannot be linked to an account, so ask us to remove one).
Question reports. If you use "Report a problem", we save the question, your reason and any note you type, so the question can be fixed. Reports are deleted if you delete your account.
Your practice answers. When you finish a session, your typed answers or speech transcripts are sent to Anthropic's Claude API to be scored, and the result comes back to you. If you are signed in, we then save your answers and the feedback with your results history so you can read them again; you can delete them by deleting your account.
Video and audio. The camera preview stays in your browser and is never recorded or uploaded. Speech-to-text, where your browser offers it, is done by your browser or its provider (for example Google in Chrome), under their own terms.

Who sees your data

Anthropic (for scoring, through its API), our hosting provider (Render), and Google only if you choose Google sign-in. We do not sell your data or share it for advertising.

Your choices

You can delete your account and all data we hold about you at any time with the "Delete my account" button on your profile page (click your name at the top right). You can also stop using Claude scoring by not finishing a session; the site then shows a local estimate instead.

Limits and changes

Practice scores are estimates, not the schools' scoring. Deadlines are collected from public sources and may be wrong: always confirm with the school. We may update this policy and will change the date above when we do.
